  • What are the minimum system requirements to use SystemTrader?
  • Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion), 10.8 (Mountain Lion), 10.9 (Mavericks) or 10.10 (Yosemite)

  • Does SystemTrader support futures/options/Forex trading?
  • Not at this point: SystemTrader is a stock trading software, and only supports data from stocks and indices (and EOD data from a few currency pairs). The software may be expanded in a later versions to include support for additional markets.

  • Is SystemTrader suited for day-trading?
  • It depends. If you are a book trader or a scalper, then SystemTrader is probably not the software you need: there is no level II at this point, the minimum timeframe in charts is 1 minute, and order execution is not supported.
    If however your typical position lasts one hour or more, then SystemTrader's real-time charts, watchlists, and screeners were made just for you. Note that you will need an account at Interactive Brokers to use these features.

  • Is SystemTrader suited for swing-trading?
  • Absolutely. In fact, if you are a swing-trader (your typical position lasts a few days) you will probably get to use SystemTrader's whole feature set: portfolio tracking, intraday and EOD charts, real-time stock screening, watchlists, trading system backtesting, customized indicators, etc. Note that you will need an account at Interactive Brokers to use real-time and intraday features.

  • Yes. Whether you are a short-term or long-term investor (your typical position lasts a few weeks to a few years), SystemTrader has the tools you need to test your strategy, to scan the market for investing opportunities, to access, analyze and customize thousand of stock charts, and to see how your portfolio is performing over time.
